Srish Partab Attorneys

about us

SPI was founded by Srish Partab (“Srish”), a child of KwaZulu-Natal and a legal practitioner who has built a reputation of being able to find innovative solutions to complex legal issues. Srish has been involved in legal practice from the tender age of 22 years old in 2010 and has lived, breathed and practised the law ever since.

More About Srish

When asked by one of his former candidate legal practitioners, what are his passions, Srish’s response was, “I am fond of physical fitness, and the law.

That’s it! Having served his articles of clerkship (as it was then referred) in Pietermaritzburg for the reputable small-sized firm Subhash Maikoo and Associates, Srish developed himself as a general practitioner with the ability to handle whatever was put before him. In a city like Pietermaritzburg, Srish has said that one requires the ability to deal with any legal issue that one may face, be it in the fields of criminal, civil, litigation, collections, conveyancing, general property, insolvency, business rescue, estates, tax or whatever is thrown at you for that matter.

Srish took the brave decision to leave Pietermaritzburg in 2018 for Johannesburg without securing employment. He had the hope that he could obtain employment where he could expand his knowledge, expertise and experience in other areas of law which a smaller city like Pietermaritzburg was not able to provide him. Srish spent all but 20 days in Johannesburg before he was interviewed and appointed by Diale Mogashoa Attorneys of Pretoria as an associate. Diale Mogashoa Attorneys was and still is one of the largest solely owned black law firms in the country.

Alas, during his time at Diale Mogashoa Attorneys, Srish was introduced to and fell in love with the area of law known as Administrative Law, which to this day remains his passion. In 2019, Srish was appointed as a senior associate at Diale Mogashoa Attorneys and took up a role to grow Diale Mogashoa’s branch offices in the Mother City, Cape Town. Excited by this opportunity, Srish jumped at the chance to move to Cape Town, and quite quickly established Diale Mogashoa Attorney’s presence in the Mother City. During his tenure in Cape Town, Srish acted for and on behalf of the Drakenstein, Saldanha Bay and Cape Winelands Municipalities.

About us

Legal Services You Can Trust

He cemented relationships with Transnet Freight Rail, Transnet National Ports Authority, the Strategic Fuel Fund, Airports Company South Africa, the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa and the Government Employees Pension Fund to name a few. At a firm which possessed more than 15 attorneys, Srish rose from associate to director in the space of three years and this was by no accident. Srish attributes this success simply to being the hardest worker in the room (A Dwayne“the Rock”Johnson quotation) coupled with the ability to find answers rather than to automatically know the answers.

Srish has acted for a multitude of private individuals and believes that an individual client will either use Srish as their attorney on one occasion or for the rest of their lives. Either a client will not like Srish and the manner in which he handles their legal issues, or Srish will be their lawyer forever. There is no middle ground.

Like Odysseus in Homer’s Iliad, Srish had learnt a great deal from his travels and has practiced in the 3 main jurisdictions in South Africa, being KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng and the Western Cape
